When I first started this project I was around 12 years old. My lifelong interest in pet fish and freshwater ecosystems fueled me to design a small pond, of around 100 gallons. Going into this project i didn't know much about the craft other than that i needed a liner of some sort to hold water and that i needed a pump to circulate the water. The pond I built was quite inexpensive and used inferior materials which sufficed for the time being. Before long I quickly ran into problems, this initial failure sent me along the path to perfect my design.
